Penn Law has a variety of resources available on campus for students.

Support/Resources for 1Ls

The Law School is offering a range of administrative and faculty support resources for first-year students. Staff members from Academic Support, Career Services, the Center on Professionalism, Student Affairs, and the Toll Public Interest Center are all available this week for drop-ins and for pre-scheduled meetings, to discuss whatever questions or concerns you may have at the completion of the Fall 2017 semester. 


Faculty Options

  • Check in with your 1L Advisor.
  • If you’d like to consider ways of improving your study and test-taking skills, make an appointment with the Academic Support Program faculty (Professors Jessica Simon and Felicia Lin).
  • The Deputy Deans are hosting a Q&A drop in session: Wednesday, 1/24, from 4:30 to 6:30 in S-147.
  • Professor Wolff, chair of the Student Engagement Committee & 1L faculty member, will host drop in hours on Friday, 1/26 from 9:00 to 11:00 in S-147.

  • Individual appointments with career counselors are offered from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday.
    1Ls can schedule any open appointment and Career Services has added many additional hours this week and next, which are reserved for 1Ls. Sign up here.

  • Plan to attend the next 1L Professionalism Cohort Meeting on 2/5 at noon, featuring Penn Law alumnus and psychologist Dr. Larry Richard discussing our incredibly rewarding and intellectually challenging profession and Lawyer Resiliency.
