Student Resources

Penn Law has a variety of resources available on campus for students.

Support/Resources for 1Ls

The Law School is offering a range of administrative and faculty support resources for first-year students. Faculty and staff members from Academic Support, Career Services, the Center on Professionalism, Student Affairs, and the Toll Public Interest Center are all available this week for drop-ins and for pre-scheduled meetings, to discuss whatever questions or concerns you may have at the completion of the Fall 2017 semester.

Faculty Options

  • Check in with your 1L Advisor.
  • If you’d like to consider ways of improving your study and test-taking skills, make an appointment with the Academic Support Program faculty (Professors Jessica Simon and Felicia Lin).
  • Faculty Ombudsperson: For faculty-student issues, our faculty ombudsperson is a key resource.  This individual, a tenured member of the faculty, can assist students navigate an array of issues that may arise in the classroom.  Note, the ombudsperson is NOT a point person re questions about grades or academic performance.  Those inquiries can be directed to Student Affairs and the Registrar’s Office, as a starting point.

This year (2017-18) the faculty ombudsperson is Professor Catherine Struve ((215) 898-7068, cstruve@law.upenn.edu).
