It is a Penn Law tradition that each year, the members of the graduating class join together to give a gift to the Law School. A class gift is not mandatory, but it is an appropriate way to leave a mark on Penn Law. Typically, the class officers (and specifically the Class Agent) spearhead the fund raising effort.
Class Officers must adhere to the following guideline regarding the class gift:
1. Class Officers must review a list of funding opportunities with the Dean of Students and the Associate Director of Annual Giving before making a decision on a gift.
2. Once a gift is decided upon, students must seek the approval of the Dean and the Vice Dean for Development and Alumni Relations.
3. The gift is to be presented by the Class Officers at Graduation. All arrangements for the implementation of the gift should be made before that time.
