Termination of S.J.D. Candidacy

If at any time a candidate's primary advisor determines (in consultation with the dissertation committee) that an applicant is not making satisfactory progress toward completion of the dissertation, the advisor will so advise the candidate. If the same determination is made by the primary advisor (in consultation with the dissertation committee) at or after the time when a candidate's next annual report is due, the candidate may be dismissed from the S.J.D. program.

If a candidate fails to submit an annual report in timely fashion, or fails to submit a complete dissertation within the three years following admission to the program, as that time may be extended by the Graduate Studies Committee, the candidate may be dismissed from the S.J.D. program.

If a candidate fails to pay the required tuition and fees, then, in accordance with University policy, the candidate may be dismissed from the S.J.D. program
