Related Opportunities at Penn Law

Urban Law Forum
Our parent organization, the Urban Law Forum (ULF), is a student-run group dedicated to improving quality of life for low-income individuals and families in urban communities.  The Organization aims to increase Penn students’ awareness of and exposure to the multiple challenges faced by this population. Their goal is to inspire interdisciplinary discourse, partnership and action.

ULF engages in pro bono work such as legal services and community economic development, contributes to members’ professional development through informational and networking opportunities, and holds events such as the annual “Philadelphia Reality Tour.”

Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic

UVP receives substantial faculty support from the Penn Law Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic.  This clinic, available as a 5-credit course for second and third year law students, offers students a unique opportunity to experience the role performed by transactional business lawyers, and develop and hone essential legal skills. Participation in the Clinic involves close faculty supervision with students serving as counsel for real for-profit and non-profit business clients. Projects undertaken by students include assisting a client in developing a kitchen incubator designed to foster food entrepeneurs in Philadelphia to representing a business before the zoning board to secure permission to add to its business.
