Historical Background

PEAP (previously known as the Prisoners’ Legal Education Project, or PLEP) was started in 2004. Roughly 80 students participated in PEAP during the 2012-2013 academic year, and the group is expected to continue growing. In recent years, PEAP also incorporated the Innocence Project into its mission. Students this year will continue to teach legal education within the Philadelphia Prison System, as well as volunteer with the Innocence Project.
