Are you planning on studying or working abroad? Completing an internationally-oriented course or working on an international student activity or journal? Just want to be prepared for the increasingly global nature of law practice? This tutorial will familiarize you with the basics of researching international law and the law of jurisdictions beyond the U.S.
We will cover how to find treaties, decisions of international tribunals, and United Nations and European Union documents, as well as helpful research tools and key secondary sources for starting your research on foreign national law. If you have specific questions for a class project, student group or pro bono assignment, or journal source hunt, feel free to bring them to this tutorial!
Past Notable 2014-2015 Events
December 10, 2014 | Human Rights Day
Human Rights Day was established to bring to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations. IHRA hosted an event to commemorate Human Rights Day by encouraging Penn Law students, staff, and faculty to think about the right which matters most to them and write it down on a hand. Over 100 hands were posted to create a visual display that human rights matter to the Penn Law community! Sponsored by Insomnia Cookies.

November 4, 2014| Film Screening: Girl Rising
Girl Rising was born in a search for how to end global poverty. And the answer was pretty simple: educating girls is the highest-return investment you can make in breaking cycles of poverty. The film journeys around the globe to witness the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world.
