Animal Law Project (ALP)

Animal Law Project (ALP), a chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, focuses on the protection and promotion of animal interests through the legal system. ALP’s goals are furthered in a number of ways. First, project volunteers provide pro bono assistance to animal-focused organizations. Second, ALP organizes speakers, screenings, and other events to engage the law school and broader Penn community in open dialogue regarding the legal protection of animals. Finally, ALP organizes community events for student networking and collaboration. Events like PSPCA shelter visits and pet-friendly “Yappy Hours” provide students interested in animal law with an opportunity to engage with similarly-minded individuals.
