Stephanie Favotto

Name: Stephanie Favotto

Hometown: Sydney, Australia

Prior Education: LLB (Hons) and BCom (Distinction), University of New South Wales/Exchange programs at Georgetown University & University of Nottingham

What I have been up to since graduation:  I took the New York Bar immediately following my graduation from Penn Law and was fortunate to have been admitted in April 2016.  After taking the Bar, I returned to my firm in Sydney where I was seconded as in-house marketing counsel to Australia’s leading FMCG business and the world’s leading quick service restaurant.  I was also lucky enough to have been named as one of Lawyers Weekly’s 30 under 30 and was a winner in the IP category.

What I did before Law School: I worked as an Associate in Baker & McKenzie’s Sydney office, specializing in Intellectual Property and Advertising.

Why I chose Penn Law: Penn Law has a great IP program and the Detkin IP Clinic was a big draw. Penn also has a renowned global reputation and an interdisciplinary approach (I was able to take a class at Wharton without participating in the WBLC).

My best experience at Penn Law: All the LLM social events; participating in the Detkin Clinic; meeting a wonderful global network of friends.

Professor who influenced me most: Professor Gideon Parchomovsky (Copyright and Trademarks) and Professor Cynthia Laury Dahl (Detkin IP Clinic).

My favorite course: Copyright.

My favorite Philadelphia moment: Living in Rittenhouse Square.

What I am most proud of: Maintaining good grades while enjoying the LLM and Philly at the same time!

My extracurricular activities at Penn Law: LLM Class Vice President, LLM Rep for PIPG, Penn Law Rep for GAPSA

My favorite place of activity on the University Campus: The Courtyard and College Green.
