What I Did Before Law School:
I worked for a financial company in Japan. I focused mainly on compliance and legal matters related to domestic retail transactions.
Why I Chose Penn Law:
The strength in business related legal studies was the decisive factor when I determined to come to Penn Law. In addition, the nice atmosphere I felt when I came here for a campus visit before applying convinced me that I would have the best law school experience here.
My Best Experience at Penn Law:
The best experience I am having at Penn Law is the everyday interaction with many students from various backgrounds which I find very stimulating. I feel every moment with them is very precious.
Professor Who Influenced Me Most:
Penn Law has a strong line-up of highly regarded professors. The first professor I met at Penn Law was Professor William Ewald. He gave me a strong introduction to U.S. legal studies, an area which I had been particularly unfamiliar with. This background at the beginning enabled me to enjoy the tremendous contributions of the other amazing professors.
My Favorite Course:
The International Finance course taught by Professor Fritz Kübler and the Securities Regulation Course taught by Professor William Tyson are my two favorite courses. The professors’ detailed and clear explanations let me understand the deep difficult issues. The two courses, which are closely related with my business, should be definitely beneficial to my future career.
My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:
Watching the professional sport games is a great fun. Philadelphia has teams in each of the four major sports: baseball, football, basketball and ice hockey. Especially, I found that ice hockey is surprisingly exciting. The Philadelphia Flyers are playing very well this season; they won all the three games I attended.
My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:
Hill Field is where I play baseball with my friends every week (except during the winter). Some other students are playing rugby, Frisbee, just having a walk, etc. The field provides me with the best opportunity to refresh myself from everyday studies.
