Delphine Dauba-Pantanacce

Hometown:

Paris, France

Class Year:

LL.M. 2006

Prior Education:

D.E.S.S. in International Transportation (Major: Air Transportation), University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
Master of Law, Private Law, University of Paris 10 Nanterre

What I Did Before Law School:

I worked for a law firm specialized in New Technologies, and I also worked for two companies.

Why I Chose Penn Law:

I chose Penn Law because it is one of the top law schools in the U.S., known especially for its academic excellence. The University of Pennsylvania is a member of the famous Ivy League community. Moreover, it is really nice to study on such a beautiful campus.

I also chose Penn Law because I had the opportunity to take classes at the Wharton School which was really interesting and enriching from a lawyer’s prospective.

My Best Experience at Penn Law:

I had a terrific experience at Penn Law during the whole year. Thanks to the LL.M., I met many different international students and we talked a lot about our cultures, our countries and families.  I also enjoyed meeting the J.D.s who were really welcoming.

Professor Who Influenced Me Most:

I was impressed by Professor Stuart Diamond because it was a very practical class.

My Favorite Course:

I liked Negotiation & Persuasion class taught by Professor Diamond. It is challenging to learn that anything could be negotiable, and also to learn how to put ourselves in others’ shoes to better understand them.

My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:

I had so many favorite moments in Philly: it is a great city, very well located between D.C., NYC and the Ocean!

Each area in Philly has a soul. I was living in front of the Art Museum, and I loved running past the boat houses, ending up at the stairs of the Museum — enjoying running up like Rocky!

What I’m Most Proud Of:

I was proud of getting into an Ivy League Law School, and I am really proud of being a Penn Alumni!

My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:

I was part of French lunches organized by a J.D.  Any student who wanted to speak in French could join us during lunch time each week.

I helped promote the LL.M. in Paris!

My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:

I loved walking down Locust Walk, getting coffee with my friends at the Buck’s County Coffee in front of the Law School, and sitting in the courtyard of the Law School watching squirrels playing together! But the Clock is one of my favorite places.
