Hometown: Hong Kong and Vancouver
Prior Education: Bachelor of Arts, Simon Fraser University, Canada Juris Doctor, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
What I did before Law School: Banking, Royal Bank of Canada
Why I chose Penn Law: Penn Law has an unparalleled strength in corporate law with highly distinguished professors, many of whom are heavyweights of their respective fields and regularly appear in mainstream media and publications. The law school offers an impressive array of (niche) corporate courses (e.g. structured finance, cross-border M&A, transactional drafting, to name only a few). Most importantly, Penn Law collaborates with the Wharton School to offer the Wharton Business and Law certificate program that offers world-class business courses in corporate finance, derivatives, private equity, etc).
Professor who influenced me most: Jill Fisch is arguably the best professor at Penn who teaches student to think beyond what the textbook says.
My favorite course: My best course is Transactional Drafting, a highly practical course where I learned how an M&A transaction is negotiated in real life and how the negotiation is then translated into the terms of the merger agreement.
My favorite Philadelphia moment: The class trip to the Philadelphia museum was awesome.
What I am most proud of: The friends of various backgrounds that I have made here.
My extracurricular activities at Penn Law: Participating in a variety of pro bono projects at Penn Law.
My favorite place of activity on the University Campus: This must be the Penn Law courtyard!
