Isabella Hernandez L’24

Isabella (Izzy) Hernandez is a 2L from Queens, NY. She attended Skidmore College, where she majored in Philosophy and Anthropology. After graduating, she worked as a litigation paralegal for two years in NYC. Then, prior to attending law school, she received her Master’s in Bioethics (MBE) from Harvard Medical School.

This summer, Izzy worked in the Criminal Defense Practice of the Legal Aid Society in Queens, NY. She plans to continue with public defense beyond law school, using her MBE to provide a health ethics lens to the work.

At Penn Law, Izzy is the co-chair of If/When/How, a board member of the Prison Legal Education Project, the advocacy chair of LALSA, and an Associate Editor on the Journal of Law and Social Change.

In her free time, she enjoys long walks, movie marathons, and hanging with friends.
