Ronald Edwards L’25

Ronald was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and came to the United States to pursue an undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Grinnell College in Iowa. After graduating from Grinnell, Ronald attended NYU’s Stern School of Business to pursue an MBA with thoughts of running his own non-profit business.

Ronald then received a fellowship from ProInspire, which matches young business professionals with non-profit organizations to apply their technical knowledge and skills in the public sector. Through the ProInspire Fellowship, Ronald worked with Eagle Academy, a PK3-3 charter school serving underrepresented populations in Southeast D.C., to analyze student data and use that data to inform teacher instruction.

During his six years at Eagle Academy, Ronald went through the process of becoming a permanent resident. His immigration process was fraught with challenges, and he was inspired by his immigration lawyer’s determination while fighting his case. Given the profound impact his lawyer had on his life, Ronald would like to use his Penn Carey Law education to do the same for others and assist them in navigating the complex immigration system.
