Alexandra Walsh L’24

Alexandra Walsh was raised in Hartford, CT, and attended Harvard College, where she studied History and Literature, Classics, and Spanish. During her undergraduate years, she worked closely with students and families as program director for the Mission Hill After School Program. This experience is what inspired her passion for educational equity and access to high-quality early learning. After graduating, Alexandra received a Fulbright Scholarship and lived in Madrid, Spain, where she taught and volunteered with the Fundación Secretariado Gitano to advocate for improved educational opportunity for Gitano youth. She then got her Master’s in Education and Child Development at the University of Oxford, where she wrote her dissertation on young children’s perceptions of their legal rights to self-determination.

Prior to coming to Penn Carey Law, Alexandra worked in educational and community outreach programming for Dumbarton Oaks and served as a Teaching Fellow for her mentor, Dr. Karen Mapp, on the Family-School-Community Partnerships course at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. At Penn Carey Law, Alexandra is a member of the Student Public Interest Network, Public Speaking Society, Penn Carey Law Women’s Association, and School Disciplinary Advocacy Service. She feels grateful to be building the legal toolset she needs to become an effective advocate for young people and their educational rights.

In her spare time, Alexandra enjoys baking and going to concerts. A proud Greek-American, she also loves Greek folk dancing and making Greek food for her friends at Penn Carey Law.
