
Elizabeth Shackney L’24
Lizzie Shackney grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and received her undergraduate degree in Government from Wesleyan University. She is pursuing a joint Masters in Urban Spatial Analytics at the Weitzman School of Design. Lizzie came to law school determined to weave together civil legal services, community organizing, and technological tools. She intends to help build collective power and advance social justice. Prior to law school, Lizzie served as the Director of Analytics and Research at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA). In that role, she brought statistical analysis, geospatial analysis, and mapping visualizations to TRLA’s work in various practice areas, most often in housing, farmworker, community development, and environmental law. At Penn Law, she has worked with the Penn Housing Rights Project, representing tenants at their Fair Housing Commission hearings. She participates in the Penn chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and the Student Public Interest Network.
