Yu-Po (Paul) Chang LLM
Yu-Po Chang graduated from Taiwan’s National Chengchi University, where he served as class valedictorian while earning a dual degree in law and land resource planning. He participated in organizations and events such as providing legal advice to underserved communities and serving as Chairman of the Land Economics Library for two years. Prior to studying at Penn Carey Law, Paul joined the Legislative Yuan (Congress of Taiwan) and assisted Legislator Chiang Wan-an by drafting legislation and preparing interpellation materials related to social justice, environmental protection, and public health. He also accepted petitions from the community to solve local issues and managed the legislator’s Facebook page and official website to publicize important activities and policy issues.
At Penn Carey Law, Paul serves as an Associate Editor in both the Journal of International Law and Asian Law Review. He is also a member of the Office of Equity & Inclusion’s Student Advisory Board, where he dedicates himself to improving Penn Carey Law’s diversity, equity, and inclusion. Moreover, he was elected as the LL.M. Representative of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, where he voices out for the Asian Pacific community.
In a gentle way, we can shake the world! Yu-Po hopes to utilize his professional knowledge and political passion to serve society and make a difference in the world. It is his dream to work for a society in which the voice of the minority will not be ignored and that mutual trust between the government and its people will be established.
