Madeline Bruning grew up in Athens, Georgia. Before law school, she earned a B.S. in Public Policy and a minor in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Working as a Teaching Assistant and writing tutor, she developed an interest in academia. Her internship at the District Attorney’s office provided a firsthand glimpse into the racial and economic disparities embedded in the criminal legal system, which motivated her to go to law school.
