Thomas Munson L’23

Thomas Munson grew up in New York City and received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania. As an undergraduate he spent three years as a research assistant working on projects related to political participation and partisanship. He is committed to protecting and strengthening voting rights and voting access. He is especially interested in the intersection of voting rights and other pressing legal issues, such as criminal law reform, economic justice, and environmental justice. By focusing on these issues, he hopes to use strategic litigation to not only improve voting accessibility but also redistribute power to communities impacted by racial and economic inequality.

At Penn Carey Law, Thomas was on the board of the Democracy Law Project and a volunteer for the Civil Rights Law Project. He interned for Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity, providing assistance to Philadelphians seeking criminal record expungements and pardons.
