Evelyn Mangold L’24

Evelyn is committed to diminishing barriers to accessible reproductive healthcare and education. Her passion has led her to pursue a career at the intersection of law and public health with a focus on reproductive health policy. She grew up in Buffalo, NY, and received her BS in Public Health and Psychology at the University of Miami and is currently pursuing a JD/MPH with the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.

Evelyn’s advocacy began in college where she launched a sexual assault awareness campaign called K[no]w More and worked on a sexual health podcast, The Sex Wrap. After college, she joined Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) in North Philadelphia as a case manager for pregnant and new mothers. In this role, she advocated beside her clients for health care access, housing, public benefits, and custody. In addition to her casework, she drove MCC’s iconic MOMobile around North Philadelphia, became a Certified Lactation Consultant, and worked to support new mothers in breastfeeding and diminish breastfeeding disparities.

At Penn Carey Law, Evelyn is a Direct Services Co-chair on If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice, a Vice-President and treasurer of the Equal Justice Foundation and an Associate Editor for The Regulatory Review. After her first year at Penn Carey Law, she interned at the AIDS Law Project of PA, which seeks justice and represents individuals living with HIV and AIDS.
