Nicole Schneidman L’17

Nicole earned her JD/MBA at Penn Carey Law and the Wharton School in preparation for a career building and managing double- and triple-bottom-line businesses. After graduating from Georgetown University, Nicole returned to her home state of Arizona where she became immersed in environmental and progressive campaigns with the Arizona League of Conservation Voters and the Arizona Democratic Party. In 2010, Nicole joined the team of Citizen Effect, a Washington, D.C.-based startup crowdfunding platform. As Citizen Effect’s Strategic Initiatives Manager, Nicole led the startup’s strategies for scaling and built a national of fundraisers for critical community projects around the world. Nicole’s experience working with Citizen Effect’s fundraisers and sixty field partners convinced her of the need for rethinking traditional models for effecting social change.

As a Penn Carey Law student, Nicole has pursued fellowships and extracurricular activities to develop the legal and business skills to enter the field of for-profit social innovation. She is a Lipman Family Prize Fellow, Wharton Impact Investing Fellow, Whitcome Fellow, Director of the Urban Ventures Project, Director of Social Impact for the Wharton Business Plan Competition, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Law. Outside of the classroom, Nicole has used graduate school to engage with the governance, financing, and management of double-bottom-line businesses as an intern at Cutting Edge Capital, GoodCompany Ventures, and Cooley, LLP.
