Abby Wright is an Assistant Director at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, Appellate Staff. Ms. Wright has written or supervised the writing of briefs in every court of appeals and has argued forty cases in the courts of appeals.

Ms. Wright’s practice covers a wide range of topics, including challenges to the constitutionality of federal laws and programs, challenges to agency action under the Administrative Procedure Act, tort suits, takings claims, and many others. Before joining the Appellate Staff, Ms. Wright clerked for Justice John Paul Stevens and for Chief Judge Michael Boudin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Ms. Wright is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, University of California, Berkeley, and Purdue University.
