Antonio Pozos

Antonio Pozos is a Partner at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia. He is a proven and aggressive advocate for clients in criminal litigation, government investigations, and related civil proceedings. Mr. Pozos also leads internal investigations, advises clients on effective compliance programs, and helps corporate and individual victims seek redress through the criminal justice system and civil litigation. He is an experienced trial lawyer with a strong track record of representing clients in the health care industry and in matters involving complex frauds, foreign corruption, public corruption, and cross-border disputes. He has represented clients in numerous significant and high profile cases, including in the “Varsity Blues” cases in the District of Massachusetts.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Pozos was a federal prosecutor with the Criminal Fraud Section of the Department of Justice, where he worked with the Corporate Strike Force and the Medicare Fraud Strike Force. He prosecuted hospital operators, home health care agency owners, doctors, and other health care industry executives and medical professionals throughout the United States. Significantly, he prosecuted a groundbreaking case against a publicly traded hospital operator, which resulted in a civil and criminal monetary resolution of more than $500 million and the entry of guilty pleas by two hospital subsidiaries. He also prosecuted public corruption, including prosecuting former DEA agents for offenses involving narcotics distribution, robbery, firearms, obstruction of justice, and perjury.  Mr. Pozos received numerous awards for his service, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General’s Cooperative Achievement Award, the FBI’s Award for Outstanding Efforts and Contributions to the Public Corruption Program, and multiple awards from the DEA for his work in the field of drug law enforcement.

Mr. Pozos has been repeatedly recognized for his outstanding legal work, including by the Legal Intelligencer as a “Lawyer on the Fast Track” in 2019, and by the Philadelphia Business Journal as both a “Minority Business Leader” and “Best of the Bar” in 2020. He sits on the Board of the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, and he is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School Inn of Court and the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania. Mr. Pozos attended Harvard College, from which he graduated magna cum laude, and later graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School.  He clerked on the Eastern District of Virginia’s “Rocket Docket” for the Honorable Anthony J. Trenga.
