What I Did Before Law School:
I am a corporate M&A lawyer at a big law firm in Brazil. My work focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and project finance. I also have corporate arbitration and litigation in my background.
Why I Chose Penn Law:
Penn’s Ivy League prestige was decisive for my choice.
I was also interested in taking advantage of the joint business program with The Wharton School, highly recognized for its preeminence in finance, and, on a more personal note, I was seduced by the magnificent campus and broad-spectrum culinary and cultural options offered by the city of Philadelphia.
My Best Experience at Penn Law:
The wide variety of transactional courses offered by the Law School gave me the valuable opportunity to improve my background in corporate law and sharpen my business-oriented perspective.
Professor Who Influenced Me Most:
Professor Edward Rock. I was inspired by his deep knowledge of the intricacies of M&A transactions and the multiple creative solutions for getting around potential issues.
My Favorite Course:
Corporate Finance, with Professor Frank LaMay. The course is extremely interesting and effectively provides students with a better understanding of the stock market and the different valuation techniques.
My Favorite Philadelphia Moment:
Watching the Pennsylvania Ballet Company at Kimmel Center, in a performance by one of the former choreographers of the Bolshoi Ballet.
What I’m Most Proud Of:
Conducting my personal and professional life in an enriching and fulfilling manner, studying in depth something that I love and having this amazing international experience.
My Extracurricular Activities at Penn Law:
Penn tennis, jazz concerts, contemporary dance performances, and, inevitably, shopping…
My Favorite Place or Activity on the University Campus:
Playing tennis became part of my life in Philly! The outside courts were brand new and it was a memorable experience spending free time there with my friends.
