Lauren Owens is the Director of International Affairs at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. In this role, she provides leadership for Penn Law’s wide-ranging opportunities to engage with international, foreign, and comparative law across all areas of academic and extracurricular programming. Among other aspects, this mission includes study abroad and other overseas opportunities, global coursework, cross-university partnerships, hosting international scholars and visitors, faculty collaborations, and internationally-focused programs and events.

Lauren’s career in international higher education has spanned nearly two decades and several continents. She joined Penn Law in 2009; the most rewarding aspect of her work has been working closely with students to achieve their global goals, which can include building or redesigning programs to meet ever-changing needs. Lauren has a BA from Dickinson College; an MPhil in Race, Ethnicity, and Conflict from Trinity College Dublin; a Graduate Certification in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute; and is completing her dissertation for an MPhil at the University of Pennsylvania.
