  • Some employers have started making decisions about whether to delay start dates. Others are still evaluating those decisions, which are complicated by the ongoing uncertainties regarding the pandemic. We are monitoring the news and gathering information from employers and students. When we learn about a decision, we reach out to those students who we know are planning to work for that employer. Many employers, however, have yet to finalize or communicate those decisions
  • If you have not heard from your post-graduate employer, consider reaching out to your recruiting point of contact and ask if they have a status update on their plans for the fall. Please be sensitive to the challenges that they may be navigating (both professionally and personally) when you frame your inquiry. We are happy to review a draft communication if you have any questions or concerns and here is a sample which you can modify:

Dear [Employer Point of Contact], I hope this email finds you healthy and safe during this difficult time. I am reaching out to touch base about my plans to join you this fall. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to start working for [Employer], and I would like to inquire if there have been any changes to my start date. Please also know that I am prepared to be as flexible as possible under the current circumstances and look forward to supporting your organizational needs as best I can. I understand that you may be extremely busy during these times but I look forward to hearing from you when you have a chance. Thank you again. Sincerely, [Student]
