Heather Isbell Schumacher is the Head of Archives and Special Collections at the Biddle Law Library. In this role, she oversees the preservation of and access to Biddle’s archival, rare book, and other special collections. This includes serving as the primary liaison between partner institutions regarding the stewardship of their institutional records and archives.

Heather joined Biddle in 2024 after serving as Archivist at the Weitzman School of Design for eight years. She is co-curator of the exhibition Minerva Parker Nichols: The Search for a Forgotten Architect, a project funded by the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, and lead editor for the subsequent publication distributed by Yale University Press. She is primarily interested in improving access and promoting the use of archival materials as well as finding creative ways to address gaps and silences in the historical record.
