Olivia Mania

Olivia Mania is a 3L from Buffalo, NY. Prior to law school they attended the University of Pittsburgh for undergrad, where they studied Political Science and minored in Spanish and Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies.

During 1L summer, Olivia interned for Lambda Legal, a national organization that carries out litigation, education, and policy efforts to help advance the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with HIV. This during fall of 2022, Olivia externed with Amara Legal Center, a Washington, D.C.-based organization that provides legal services to survivors of sex trafficking and sex workers. This past summer, they interned with ACLU-PA and worked on a variety of civil rights-related litigation efforts.

At Penn Carey Law, Olivia previously served as the Vice President of Lambda and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Law & Social Change. They now operate as the Chair of the Transgender Empowerment & Advocacy Pro Bono Project, which aims to support the transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming community through both direct legal services and research projects.

In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, cooking vegetarian food, and trying out new methods of brewing coffee.
