Alex Picou L’83
Alex Richard Picou is a Senior Banker and Managing Director based at headquarters in New York City. He focuses on leading Private Bank investment teams and creating solutions for individuals, families and foundation clients. Alex’s prior experience includes over twenty-two years in investment banking corporate finance, serving as Group Head for FBR Capital Markets, KeyBanc Capital Markets, CIBC Oppenheimer and Libra Securities, all in New York City. Alex started his investment banking career at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in New York City. Prior to his investment banking career, he spent several years in the
economic development and legal fields.
Alex joined J.P. Morgan in March 2012 and his prior areas of industry expertise and focus include hospitality real estate, travel services, casino gaming and leisure consumer goods. His investment banking experience includes over 250 transactions involving private debt and equity placements, raising private equity funds, public high yield and investment grade debt offerings, public equity and equity-linked offerings, strategic advisory assignments, sell-side and buy-side M&A and global privatization transactions.
Alex earned a B.A. from Rutgers College of Rutgers University, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, and an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. Professional licenses include FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey, with his wife and twin daughters.
