Eric Hintz is a Quattrone Center Research Fellow. He joined Penn Law and the Quattrone Center in 2019. His research interests include criminal investigatory and adjudicatory procedure, policing, sentencing, and the application of non-criminal law approaches to criminal law issues.
After earning a B.A. in economics from Emory University in 2012, Eric worked in government consulting for Booz Allen Hamilton in the Washington, D.C. area. Partially overlapping with his consulting work, Eric completed a M.A. in global security studies, summa cum laude, at Johns Hopkins University in 2014. In 2017, Eric received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif and served as a Notes Editor of the Virginia Law Review. Following law school, Eric clerked for Judge Robert E. Payne of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and for Judge Kent A. Jordan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
