Ali Zane L’25
Ali Zane is a 2L from Dearborn, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan, where he majored in public health. Prior to attending law school, he worked for the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in Washington, DC. At CBPP, Ali researched and wrote about access to healthcare, affordable housing, and family income security programs.
Ali spent this summer interning for the Medical-Legal Community Partnership at Philadelphia Legal Assistance and working as a Research Assistant for Professor Jasmine Harris. He plans to continue working with low-income people and communities to secure economic justice through both direct client and policy advocacy work.
At Penn Carey Law, Ali is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Change. He also serves on the board of 4 pro-bono projects: the Health Law and Policy Project, If/When/How, Penn Housing Rights Project, and Transgender Empowerment and Advocacy.
Outside of law school, Ali enjoys reading library books, watching Michigan football, and (forcefully) cuddling his cat, Meg.
