Ashley Johnson, M.S.Ed., is the Associate Director of Civic House at Penn, where she works with students participating in community service and supports student learning regarding the root causes of social injustice. Ashley completed her master’s study in Higher Education at Penn GSE, with a focus on creating and implementing programs that can close the information gap for students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Prior to attending Penn GSE, Ashley was a Teach for America Fellow. Ashley is pursuing her ML to better advocate for educational equity while also developing an understanding of law and policy that affect society generally. Ashley also hopes to acquire tools and to better understand how the law impacts marginalized groups in education and strengthen her capacity to provide students with tailored support.
