You’re ahead of the curve! Make sure to tailor each cover letter to the specific employer and carefully review for any mistakes (i.e. accidentally leaving in the wrong employer name). Remember to “accept” any changes and save as a PDF before sending to an employer.
While only a few employers interviewing through the OCI program will ask you to bring a cover letter with you to your interview, cover letters are an important part of an independent job search. To have your private sector cover letter reviewed, please submit a draft by Friday, June 29 and include in the subject line “YOUR LAST NAME - Cover Review” . If you are planning on seeking employment in the public sector, be sure to take advantage of Public Sector Resume and Cover Letter Review. Email your resumes and cover letters to firstname.lastname@example.org and include in the subject line “Public Interest Resume” between July 2-27.
