At Penn Law, diversity is not just a statistic, but is integrated into the culture at the law school. IT informs how we think about our education from seminars like “Black Lives Matter in Historical Perspective,” to student groups like “I’m a Muslim, Ask Me Anything.” Before I even started my first day, I received a welcome email from the South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA), and I was paired with a 2L mentor who gave me advice on navigating my first year. As President of SALSA this year, I appreciate how much our affinity groups not only provide a community for diverse students, but also how we co-collaborate with other organizations and student groups to help shape conversations with more varied perspective at Penn Law.
