I feel fortunate to be surrounded by people who are not only intelligent and driven, but who genuinely care for one another. While Penn has established formalized avenues for support for first-year students, I have been impressed by the support I have received from students and faculty outside of those contexts. Without initiation on my part, upper-level students have reached out to me to share academic resources and advice. LALSA has provided an avenue for that support, but it has also happened outside of that context. Professors have taken the time to discuss my future aspirations and share ideas for how to make the most of law school. As the first in my family to pursue a legal career, these moments are invaluable to me. Penn Law is an institution that not only speaks of the value of diversity, but has implemented practices and created a culture that ensures its community is one where all can flourish.
