“As a legal professional, my summer significantly expanded my confidence as an oral advocate, both speaking in court and interacting with the many players in the criminal justice world. I learned how to tailor conversations to different audiences and gained a deeper appreciation for how important it is to make sure everyone has access to competent, committed representation, even people who are accused of doing reprehensible things (I also saw how small a percentage of criminal defendants, all of whom need lawyers, are actually accused of doing reprehensible things)”
