# 273 Cyber Security To-Do

September 28, 2016

Celebrate National Cyber Security Awareness month by checking out these  quick steps towards improving your cyber security!

Get involved with National Cyber Security Awareness Month by making these quick cyber security improvements:

  1. Clean up your passwords. Sign up for a Premium LastPass account through the University of Pennsylvania (https://www.law.upenn.edu/its/docs/lastpass/) to help you keep track of your passwords and follow the One Password = One Account rule.
  2. Install virus, spyware, and adware protection on your personal devices. University of Pennsylvania recommends using Symantec Endpoint Protection (https://www.isc.upenn.edu/how-to/symantec-endpoint-protection). Note that devices provided Penn Law already have this kind of protection installed.
  3. Sign up for PennKey Two-Step Authentication (https://upenn.edu/manage-twostep) to protect your accounts at the University of Pennsylvania.
  4. Check to see if you’ve been exposed by a security breach by signing up your email for alerts at Have I Been Pwned? (https://haveibeenpwned.com/). Be sure to reset your password on all compromised accounts.

Email itshelp@law.upenn.edu if you have any questions or concerns about the security tools mentioned above!
