Low battery warning? Here are some suggestions to charge your battery faster when you need your phone the most:
- Turn your phone off
When your phone is off, it has nothing to do but charge. If turning your phone off is not an option, try turning off features that you don’t currently need while charging: disable location settings, turn off WiFi and/or 3G/4G connection, and keep the screen off or set it to its lowest brightness.
- Use the power adapter that came with your phone
Not all chargers are made the same, especially those made by third party manufacturers. The best bet is to stick with the charger that came with your phone.
- Use a wall plug, not a USB port
USB ports typically only provide half as much power compared to what power adapters receive from wall plugs. Even USB 3.0 doesn’t deliver the same amount of power as a wall plug. And in the case of iPhones: connecting to a USB port on a computer can cause your phone to begin syncing, slowing down the charge even more.
- Remove cases and covers
Batteries function better with cool temperatures. You shouldn’t put your phone in the freezer, but removing the case can increase airflow, which allows the battery to stay cooler and charge more efficiently.
