New Email Spam Filter Service Between August 12-15

August 09, 2013

Email spam filtering is an important service that occurs in the background but benefits everyone. Although our current implementation works, we are always looking to make it more efficient and effective.

As part of this initiative, we will be trying out a new email spam service next week from August 12 (@ 2pm) through August 15.  There will be no interruption to email service, but the rules used to identify spam and viruses will come from a different vendor.

We are kindly asking for your feedback during this period.  Specifically, we would like to know if you notice a change in the amount of legitimate email incorrectly tagged as spam (false positives) or spam that is not marked or tagged as spam (false negatives).  Please actively check your ‘Junk’ or ‘Spam’ email folder to make sure that you are not missing any emails.

If you use Outlook and are unsure how to find your junk email folder, please see this Microsoft support article:

Your feedback will help us identify how well this new service is working and hopefully improve spam filtering for everyone. Please send questions and your feedback to

Thank you for your help with this important initiative.
