#165 Check Links Before Clicking
As mentioned in previous tips, many phishing emails try to induce you to follow fraudulent links. But you can check where a link will take you without clicking on or following the link. To check where a link is actually going, just hover over it with your mouse.
In a browser, the actual web address of the link will appear in the bottom left corner of the browser window. But in Outlook, the web address appears in a pop-up as pictured below:
If the address seems suspicious, don’t click on the link and instead delete the message or close the browser window. As always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
