February 27, 2013

If you are squinting at small text on webpages or leaning back in your chair to read large text, then this tip is for you. Learn how to quickly zoom in and out with these easy shortcuts.

Using your Keyboard

In your Internet Explorer browser window:

To do this: Press this on your keboard:
Zoom in   (+10%) “Ctrl“ + “+” (Plus)
Zoom out (-10%) “Ctrl“ + “-” (Minus)
Zoom to 100% “Ctrl“ + “0” (Zero)

You can zoom in/out more than once. Use the keyboard command as many times as you’d like to make your web text the perfect viewing size.

Using your Mouse

  • Scrolling up will Zoom in.
  • Scrolling down will Zoom out.

Using the Status Bar

If you have the Status Bar toolbar enabled, you can see and change your Zoom Percentage in the bottom right hand corner of the browser window.

To enable your Status Bar in Internet Explorer:

  1. Click on the “View” menu.
  2. Go to “Toolbars”.
  3. Select “Status Bar” to enable it.
