#136 Saving with Power Management Settings

Want your laptop battery to last longer? Wish your computer did not use so much electricity? Power management settings can increase battery performance and lower your electricity consumption. Both Macs and PCs have built in helpful power management tools to help you get the most out of your computer.

Follow the instructions below to set your computer or display to sleep at a certain time. You can have special settings for when your computer is on battery power.

Mac

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your screen and choose System Preferences.
  2. Click Energy Saver.

Windows

  1. From the Start Menu choose Control Panel.
  2. Click Power Options
