Used batteries are known to cause serious problems for the environment. Next time you’re swapping out those batteries, bring the old ones in to the Student Help Desk in T-232 and we’ll take care of them for you.
Most battery recyclers will not take non-rechargeable (alkaline) batteries, as the EPA does not consider them toxic. There are however some recyclers that will take them which properly dispose of the alkaline and recycle the metal.
