The mission of the LGBTQ+ Center on campus is to enrich the experiences, celebrate victories, and affirm the existence of Penn’s LGBTQ+ undergraduates, professional & graduate students. Staff, faculty, and alumni using the lenses of social justice and intersectionality.
Through education, support, and advocacy, the Center cultivates a campus climate where all students, regardless of their gender or sexuality, can live authentically.
The LGBTQ+ Center is working on some exciting events for the faculty, staff, and students of the University.
The LGBTQ+ Center is working to re-start the employee resource group, LGBTQ+ Employees at Penn (LEAP)!
This resource group LEAP is dedicated to the retention and edification of Penn’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer staff, faculty, and postdocs.
LEAP aims to:
- Conserve a personal and professional network for all LGBTQ+ Penn employees
- Support diversity initiatives at Penn, including recruitment, outreach, retention, and education on LGBTQ+ issues
- Develop and sustain a relationship with the Philadelphia LGBTQ+ community
- Research and advocate for improvements to policies that affect LGBTQ+ Penn employees.
Please join in the opening ceremony on Thursday, November 3rd from 4pm - 6pm to learn more about LEAP’s leadership and engagement opportunities.
The interest meeting will conclude with an onsite happy hour hosted by the LGBT Center.
We hope to see you there!
