This past month has been filled with excitement and laughter as the law school welcomed its new students to the Penn Carey Law community.
On August 4th Penn Carey Law welcomed the LLM Class of 2023. This talented group of diplomats, judges, & lawyers, were selected from over 1500 applicants around the world. Almost every member of this year’s class speaks at least two languages or more, and that is only a taste of what makes this class so special.
Prior to the Fall term, this class participated in a rigorous 5-week 5 credit Pre-term Program. This intense & innovative program provides an academic foundation of the United States Legal System as well as exposure to professional opportunities in America.
As the month continued forward Penn Carey Law also welcomed the JD Class of 2025. With a diverse range of over 60 different undergraduate majors, the law school exemplifies what it means to not only celebrate but incorporate cross disciplinary legal studies.
The class experienced an exciting week of orientation where they were able to mingle with their fellow classmates, tour the Law School, and become familiar Philadelphia.
We also welcomed new ML candidates, bringing the total in our well-received program to 103 part-time students. The MLs bring their expertise in a host of career paths and professions into the classroom, again celebrating our cross-disciplinary approach.
Finally, we welcome 4 new SJD candidates bringing our total in that group to 20. These students are researching in cutting-edge areas that will have influence around the world.
Welcome, new Penn Carey Law students!
