Leeza Garber L’11 recently authored Can. Trust. Will.: Hiring for the Human Element in the New Age of Cybersecurity, which tackles the ever-increasing problem of cyberthreats, with a focus on how employers can find and hire the right people to handle them to protect their environments.
Garber’s interest in privacy issues was shaped by her experiences at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, namely coursework with Anita Allen, Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law and Professor of Philosophy.
“I adored my class with Anita Allen,” said Garber. “She calls herself ‘grandmother privacy’ and rightfully so! Her work in the field is dynamic.”
Garber is a cybersecurity and privacy lawyer and consultant as well as a lecturer at the Wharton School, where she teaches “Internet Law, Privacy, and Cybersecurity.” In 2020 and 2021, she was honored with the Wharton Teaching Excellence Award. As an adjunct law professor at Drexel University’s Kline School of Law, Garber teaches about information privacy.
She is a keynote speaker and guest expert on major televised media outlets including Fox News, Fox Business, and The National Desk, analyzing issues at the intersection of law, technology, and information privacy, including big data, social media, data breaches, hackers, and privacy legislation.
Garber also holds a Certificate in Business & Public Policy from Wharton.
