Announcing TPIC Thursdays: Service. Connection. Inspiration.

April 03, 2020

Friends,

The COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly changed our world. As unprecedented challenges touch all of our lives in both professional and personal ways, we strive to stay connected. When we chose “connected” as the theme for Public Interest Week 2019, we had no idea what the future would bring. But as we navigate the everchanging landscape of this pandemic, we are reminded that we are all indeed connected, and that we are stronger when we work, support, and uplift one another.

During this time of uncertainty, TPIC will remain a supportive convener of service and community. Starting next week, on TPIC Thursdays, we will share weekly updates including service opportunities, highlights of the work of our alumni and community partners, and always - a little bit of fun.

Upcoming Events

Connecting with Students

TPIC remains committed to supporting students with their pro bono goals as well as in their personal and professional development.

PRO BONO:
We will continue to share opportunities to contribute through pro bono service. Check this newsletter weekly for new opportunities.

PUBLIC SERVICE:
We continue to meet with students regularly to check in, advise, and plan. Email all-tpic@law.upenn.edu or any member of the TPIC Team individually to set up a virtual meeting.

Connecting with Alumni

Many of our alumni are engaged in work to help those directly impacted by the outbreak. We recently emailed our community about an opportunity to work with two amazing alumni at Philadelphia Legal Assistance who are on the front lines of helping thousands of Philadelphians apply for Unemployment Compensation benefits. Over 100 of you responded immediately! Thank you! We will continue to share and highlight incredible work like this on our social media pages and in this weekly newsletter.

Connecting with Community Partners

Our pro bono work happens in partnership with organizations throughout Philadelphia, the US, and the world. They are doing incredible work - particularly as we face the challenges of this pandemic. Each week we will showcase a partner’s important work and opportunities to support them. If you’re working with a great community partner - let us know about it!

Connecting with Staff & Faculty

Faculty and staff friends, we want to connect with you too. We are experiencing these trying times together and want to showcase your important work as well. Please share your stories with us. Students, if you want to express thanks for something a faculty or staff member has done, please share that with us too.

The TPIC Candy Jar

And now for a little fun
Can’t bear another day without a quick trip to the TPIC Candy Jar? Satisfy your craving for something sweet with an eclectic mix of music we’re compiling on this sweet Spotify playlist. Treat yourself to a new song daily as we make some sweet music together. And remember, it’s our way of reminding you of the sweet rewards of service. Listen Here
