Device Chargers and Equipment
Biddle Law Library lends a variety of device charging cables and equipment to the Law School community.
Device Charging Cables
Charging cables for a variety of mobile phones, tablets, and laptop computers are available from the Circulation Desk. Please see desk staff to request a charging cable. These cables are available for use in the library only, and require a valid PennCard and library account to check out.
Universal cable locks for laptop computers are available for checkout. Please note that Biddle does not assume liability for personal computers secured with these locks, and you are still responsible for monitoring your laptops and other personal property while in the library. These cables are available for use in the library only, and require a valid PennCard and library account to check out.
Biddle works with ITS and Communications to lend out digital point-and-shoot cameras and FLIP camcorders to students and staff for short-term use. There are two options for borrowing these cameras. If you require the use of a camera for a longer period of time, please contact Communications or ITS and they will work with you to arrange a solution.
Students and staff may check out cameras for up to three consecutive nights. These cameras are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance. Students will be required to sign an Equipment Loan Form - Student and accept financial liability for the device borrowed at the time of check-out.
Cameras available on demand include one Sony DSC-RX100 digital point-and-shoot camera with accessories (carrying case, SD card, USB cable, rechargeable battery), and two FLIP camcorders with carrying pouch.
In addition to the above short-term use cameras, one Sony DSC-RX100 point-and-shoot camera with accessories (carrying case, SD card, USB cable, rechargeable battery) is available for Law School staff and departments to check out for up to one week. If you would like to reserve a camera, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the dates that you would like to use the camera. Note that your reservation is not confirmed until you have received a response to your request. 24 hours notice on reservation requests is appreciated. Staff will be required to sign an Equipment Loan Form - Staff for the device borrowed at the time of check-out.
If the library does not have what you are looking for, you have other options on campus. Penn Law’s ITS department loans laptops and other equipment to faculty and staff.
The Weigle Information Commons (WIC) at Penn’s Van Pelt library also offers additional equipment. You can search and reserve equipment on the WIC website.
