Instructions for Authors
The Journal of Business Law welcomes articles that address all aspects of business law and policy. Preference will be given to articles of 25,000 words or less (including footnotes). We highly encourage manuscripts to be submitted via e-mail as attachments in DOC format. Unpublished manuscripts may be sent simultaneously to other journals on the conditions that the editorial board of the Journal be so advised at the time of initial submission and that the author informs the board immediately if the work is to be published elsewhere.
Please send submissions electronically either through Expresso or directly to the Journal at JBL@law.upenn.edu. While we prefer electronic submissions, we will also accept submissions by postal mail. If you submit your article by postal mail rather than electronically, please include a word count in the cover letter. Paper manuscripts should be sent to the address listed below.

If accepted for publication in the Journal, an electronic copy of the text in DOC format should be submitted. Footnotes should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (19th ed. 2010). Editors will work with authors from non-legal disciplines to adapt the citation format. All articles to be published will undergo editing with regard to style and substance.
