We are now accepting submissions and proposals for Volume 16.
While there are no strict criteria for publication in Heightened Scrutiny, the Journal is looking for pieces between 3,000 and 6,000 words. Commentary on pressing legal issues and responses to articles published in the print edition of the Journal or on Heightened Scrutiny will receive preferential consideration in the selection process. Essays are published on an ongoing basis to allow for expedited publication of especially timely pieces.
Heightened Scrutiny does not publish essays written by students. While there are no strict word limits, we normally will not review submissions that are substantially over 10,000 words.
We prefer submissions through Expresso, but we will accept them by email. Please include a resume or CV along with your manuscript. A cover letter is not required.
Please direct all inquiries to S. L. Whitesell, Managing Editor of Heightened Scrutiny, at email@example.com.
