Room Technology

General Room Information

  • Every classroom is equipped with a classroom PC, projector or flat screen TV
  • All classrooms are equipped with audio and video recording equipment.
  • Scheduled recordings will begin and end based on the class meeting’s start and ending times. No action is required from you as this is an automated system. Please note, your recording will get cut off if class runs beyond the scheduled end time.
  • All class recordings will be posted to the course’s Canvas page within 24-48 hours. Please allow some additional time for processing and editing during drop/add period due to higher than average recording requests.
  • The use of a wireless microphone is highly recommended for optimal recording quality, however it is required for all class recordings in all Silverman classrooms.
  • Certain smaller classrooms have microphones installed in the room and will not have a wireless microphone. In these cases, a wireless microphone is not needed.
  • Rooms with cameras set up on the same side as a TV/projector screen are preferred for video conferences
  • If requesting assistance using the ITS Help button in the room, please press the button once. For urgent or immediate requests, please call ITS at 215-898-9570. If you press this button in error pressing it again does not cancel the request. Please call or email ITS to cancel.
  • VHS and DVD playback are no longer supported. If you wish to play a DVD or VHS in class please reach out to ITS Media prior to the meeting date so a digital copy can be made for you. You may email ITS Media directly at itsmedia@law.upenn.edu
